@my thoughts Incorrect, I was told previously by an AT&T employee that AT&T still retains ownership of the box, fee or not. The fee is simply a penality for not returning the hardware, it has no legal basis on the change of ownership.

I think mythoughts was just saying that if someone buys ATT equipment from ebay, craigslist, etc., they would be wise to return it and attempt to get their money back.
