U-verse address book additions not working

Hi, I'm trying to add new contacts to my U-verse address book. I add these items:

  • first name

  • last name

  • phone (cell)

  • group (my defined group)

...then click Save. Every time, I get the attached result. Please help!

I assume you're talking U-verse TV?

As someone who has had Uverse TV for13 years, I feel confident in saying that Uverse TV does not have any kind of address book.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Hi, thanks for replying! I'm a charter uverse subscriber (2005!), and yes, if you have uverse phone service, there's an address book feature. The best thing about it is that when somebody in the address book calls, their name shows up on the tv screen, even if they have unlisted numbers it is (was) great! But now I can't add new contacts.

Why are you asking your question on an AT&T forum?

This is a user to user help forum. It is not an AT&T support site. I am not an AT&T employee, read the ACE's disclaimer at the bottom of this post

umm, what?

I guess because it is the low-stress option? Customer service was useless - not unlike these oddly quick, denying non-responses, I was switched from tech to tech until I got lost in the tree. At least this is weirdly amusing.

It's a shame when technology services take these backward steps. A real shame.

What do you mean by "charter" uverse subscriber? I have VOIP, now called AT&T phone service, previously called Uverse phone service.

WHERE are you seeing an address book that you can add names to? Is it when you log into your account.

Edit: I see this option on the online portal. I have CID on my phone so I've only used the options on the phone service to block numbers.
