Directv Stream/Roku remote down arrow no longer triggers guide

Pressing DOWN on the roku remote use to bring up the guide.  However that stopped working as of this morning.  Directv App Build 3750102 Version 3.34.

 

Now to get to the guide you have to hit the Back button, then select guide (multiple button presses).

When will they realize that most people don’t “couch surf” and flip through live TV channels anymore as often as they did 10 years ago. Your recordings in your library and the “guide” to record shows should be the MOST accessible features - available at the press of the arrow.

It’s also so bizarre that the app starts with a channel on but hidden behind a window of cumbersome options no one cares about. So against the grain and not intuitive at all. The developers are clueless. Amateur hour.

Not to mention that they pushed a untested app to consoles on a FRIDAY, before a busy sports weekend.... No mass email on how to get to the guide now, no mandatory tutorial when you first open the app --- nothing.... And why not just revert back to the old working app once they start getting all these complaints???

this is a poor change . it was easy to click down to find all options . now I have to go backwards .  I tried clicking down arrow but it did not work. It is only showing my recently viewed channels. I don’t see my library watch now options like we used to. I hope they are reading our input and change this feature as it’s annoying.

Hate the new interface!  It was so much easier to hit the down arrow!  Please fix this!!!

It's been 4 Days since DirecTV pushed a broken roku app rendering our subscriptions almost unusable immediately prior to a busy sports weekend.  It is now very difficult to get to the guide without accidentally exiting the app (and requires 3 button pushes). In addition, there is no way to exit the guide returning to live TV.

  1. If this behavior is not intended, why not revert to the previous working versions while they fix so we can at least watch TV.
  2. Why push an updated that contains major navigation changes on a Friday?  Why not include a tutorial on how to navigate?

There has been NO RESPONSE from direcTV in our other thread HERE... Some people have reported getting responses on twitter/X stating that they are "working on a fix but it won't be quick so use other devices to stream".

ROLL IT BACK - THE NEW VERSION  (Edited per community guidelines)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  IT"S NOT INTUITIVE AT ALL.  I HAVE BEEN A USER SINCE DAY 0.

I use a Roku TV and remote.  The new home screen is terrible.  My favorites are gone, there is no information on how to get them back.  The home screen overtakes the picture and as a visually impaired person it is impossible to navigate.  What are the remedies?

This just happened to me overnight.  And I agree with everyone on here, this is a terrible update.  And I'm sure like many on here, I have multiple TVs with different OS's (i.e.: Android TV, Google dongles, FireTV and a RUKO).  And none of the other apps have made this change!  Why in the world would someone that has to, supposedly, support a software app want to have to support that many different versions with different features.  Doesn't make any since what so ever.

No one here from the quick read i did has said how difficult it is when watching recordings from the library. You used to just hit the down button and proceed to next episode of what you have in your library.

THIS IS HORRIBLE.

What person thought this made the interface easier.

Also the stupid "continue watching" on the screen is stupid and I don't need reminded to continue watching . So dumb.

Let’s all hope the employee who commented above was correct and they change it back - FAST. What a disappointing disaster this has been. I need fast access to my recorded programs in my library. Who else agrees?

Totally, wholeheartedly agree Bdav.

You have to do so many things to get to the library now. And when you exit your recorded program back to live , then try to go to guide this interface takes you back to the beginning of the just watched program on your library.

I want to turn my tv on and just go to the channel I was watching previously.

Why take me to a screen with "what on now" and "continue watching now".

We are not stupid directtv !
