DVR recordings starting late
Most of my shows have already started when I turn on the recording watch now. Why are they delay recording?

What shows?
What channel(s)?
Perhaps those stations aren't starting their shows at the exact time in the Guide?

I also posted this a while back. I've traced mine back to my local ABC and FOX. Anything I record on those two stations start anywhere from 1-3 minutes late. It's not the station because I also have DTV Satellite and those recordings start on time.
So, it's something with DTV Stream. I've called twice with no answers and they say they'll get back with me but they don't. I was gonna call again today. The other problem I'm having is when I go to UPCOMING RECORDINGS I get a big black box that says to go to the Guide (like I have no recordings). When I exit out then return, my recordings are there. While this is annoying, the recordings starting late is the biggest problem.
BTW. The 1st CSR said she rebooted my DVR. Didn't help the problem. The 2nd CSR wanted to take my DTV Stream box back to Factory Settings. Uh, THEY have my recordings. The 2 DTV Stream boxes I have are NOT DVR's. Then she said something that blew me away.
She said if we return the box to Factory Settings, I will lose all recordings. Why? I have two of their boxes and sometimes use my Roku. That's frightening. One reason I have DTV Stream is because they store the recordings (unlike my Genie).
Any comments on any of these issues are appreciate before I make yet another call to Tech Spt.

To better assist you, could you please confirm for me if you are using a DIRECTV STREAM box or a different device?
Thank you in advance

I have and am using two Direct TV Stream boxes that I purchased within the past few months for my DTV Stream programming.

In this case we would like to review further options for this inconvenience. Please check your DIRECTV Message Inbox (It's the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums).
We will be there waiting for your answer.

I waited there, no one answered. Meanwhile, I deleted one of my SERIES RECORDINGS that start @ 1 PM (ABC) and did a manual recording. I'll know if THAT makes any difference in about 2 hours. If it doesn't, then ???

I think one of the CSR's said she "synched" something and rebooted my DVR. Yes, I have two boxes and of course can access my programming from a Roku and other devices. It's just two channels that perpetually start late and it's only been since 03/01/22, I believe.

Yeah. Has nothing to do with my DTV Streaming Boxes, or Roku's, etc. I even cancelled the Series and set the guide up for a Manual Recording. When 1 PM came, same thing. Those two channels started recording LATE! It's Direct TV Stream's software, or whatever. I don't know what suddenly changed this month to make anything recorded on those 2 channels not record until 1-3 minutes into the programming. It was perfect before.
But I'm upset that they aren't contacting me, or giving me some kind of answer ... just NOTHING. When I call tech support --- nothing!

I have the same problem recently with FOX and ABC. Also the fast forwarding isn't synced with the program. Very annoying but not bothering to contact AT&T, don't need the runaround!

Hello @Tanner53, let's check what's going on with your DVR feature.
We want to take a closer look into this out of sync issue. In that regard, could you please let us know which device model do you have, and for how long are you experiencing this event?

DIRECTV Help, it is on the 2 TVs I watch primarily with the app on ROKU. I have no recordings that are applicable to test on the TV with the box at this time. I almost never watch that TV. It is however a recent issue, all was fine until a short time ago.

Notice that Direct TV Help only wants to deal with one issue. Not the ABC/FOX delayed recording problem. I think a lot of people are experiencing this but may not realize it. But it's interesting that you are in TN and I am in CA and we are both experiencing delayed recordings on those 2 networks.

1) Turn your TV off and back on.
2) Make sure your Roku player or TV is not in standby or screensaver mode, by pressing any button on the Roku remote control. If the player responds, it's working normally.
3) Check the video input cable to make sure it is firmly connected to your Roku player and to the HDMI or composite connector on the TV.
4) Try disconnecting and reconnecting all Roku cables, including the power cable.
5) Make sure your Roku Streaming Stick is snugly connected to your TV's HDMI port, if applicable.
6) Be sure you selected the correct TV video input (or source) that your Roku player connector is connected to. Or try a different input.
Please let us know how it goes.
