VERY Poor Recording Quality

Lately it seems every recording on our DVR is garbled and sometimes just goes to a total black screen for over half the recording. I thought it was just our DVR but my brother is experiencing the same issues. What’s the problem?

Using the Dtv Stream box---my dvr recordings pic quality is great.

Sounds like it is an issue with your Internet. You can have a fast Internet, but by using wifi there are factors that reduce that signal. If the signal is weak at your device it will cause issues like you mention. Your signal gets weaker every time it has to pass through a wall, door or floor. Plus drops in strength when the device is to far way from your router. You can download a signal strength app to test the signal at your device. A good program to test your signal is Analiti. If the signal is low you can resolve the issue with a Wifi extender, in the area where your signal is weak.

I use DirecTV stream. It’s not the Internet because we have 1000mbs coming in. Already tested. The same thing is happening at my brothers house.
