4k

A month ago I upgraded to 4k.  The mini genie c61k-700 broadcasts 4k, the main receiver doesn't.  I have both on the same channel,  1104. I was able to rewind the mini genie to the start. The main says format not found. It was installed by a Directv tech. Why is one tv Broadcasting in 4k but the other isn't?

The HR54 was to far into production to replace the HDMI 1.4 port to the 2.0 port that the 4K standards needed so the HR54 can never output 4K.  Right the HR54 can only stream to 1 C61K mini at a time. The only Genie that can stream to 2 at a time is the HS17 Genie2.

The only 4K model is the C61K.

The HR54 does not deliver 4K itself. Unfortunately the 4K requirements increased when it was too far into production. Instead of scrapping the line and put new motherboards in them, DirecTV instead quickly came out with the C61K.

Sorry but that is the only box that you will get 4K through.

You cannot view multiple 4K channels at the same time on a single TV. There is no split screen or Picture in Picture (PiP) option for it. Clients only use a single channel.

Even if you had multiple C61Ks, only a single TV could use a 4K channel at a time.

The main receiver says we are sorry but 4k is not compatible on this location.  Would you like to search for this title in a different resolution? I searched   it says no other comparable  format.

The "main receiver" is likely your HR54 Genie DVR. That model cannot deliver 4K video to its TV connected via HDMI cable. Only the C61K Mini Genie can do that.
