Access Amazon Prime movies

Dish advertises that they do this. So give me a reason why I shouldn't switch.

We are other customers like yourself. Only you can give yourself a reason. Personally though, I wouldn't switch to any provider just for that exact thing. After all going to another provider just so you go use a different provider is a little silly. Easier to just have a Roku or something for that.

I have my own reasons for not going to Dish specifically, but that is just me.

My internet connection is with either Verizon Wireless or Hughesnet (satellite) both of which have bandwidth caps that make streaming problematic. I have no other options for internet connections,ie, no cable to the boondocks.

With that information, your question is answered. Amazon Prime streams through the internet, not Dish's satellite. Like DirecTV can connect to internet for their On Demand features, that is how it works for 3rd party apps on Dish.

So switching will not help you since your internet will not support the data usage.
