For years we have been able to watch channel 344 and now it will not show. Has this been removed?

It's there for me. What happens when you tune the channel directly (by inputting the number)

What DVR/Receiver models do you have?
Have you tried resetting?

Well that could be the problem as DTV is shutting down the MPEG2 channels, You have to call/chat with DTV to get their SD to HD swap and new dish.
