Connecting TV to Direct TV box without hard wife

I recently damaged the HDMI wire that goes from my TV to the direct tv box. The wire was installed inside the wall during a renovation and is impossible to replace. Is there any other way I can get my TV to connect to Direct TV? I tried to smart cast but it won't connect. I have a Sony TV, 2-3 yrs old. I'll even purchase a new TV if there is a TV that supports the direct tv app. Tnx in advance

Nope, only wired either HDMI or component/composite cable.  There are wireless HDMI setups unknown how well they work.

The DTV mobile app will not allow casting/streaming to any external device and there is no DTV app to stream it to anything.

All DirecTV boxes connect wired to the TV. There is no smart cast option for them.

Strange that the HDMI cable was installed inside the wall. You can get another HDMI cable as that is a removable plug. That is assuming you didn't damage either port on the DirecTV box or TV.

The DirecTV app is not available on TV, streaming devices (Roku, Firestick, etc.), and doesn't allow casting from smartphone/tablet to TV. DirecTV is service by satellite where you pay for each TV on the service. The mobile app is for viewing on mobile only, not getting a free TV on the service.

I put an addition on my house and the cable box was installed in the closet, 30 feet away from the tv. Thank you for the replies.

The DirecTV box is in a closet? Ahh, now I see your concern. In most cases the box would be installed next to the TV it connects to (like a DVD player or game console). So it connects to a single TV, as opposed to Gateway/modem that connects internet to multiple devices which is what more commonly uses a utility closet.

You may need to call DirecTV to arrange for a receiver relocate. That way they install the coax where the TV actually is and you would have a more reasonable length of HDMI instead of 30 feet.
