CW channel on Directv not in HD

Not sure where to go for support but the CW channel on Directv in Iowa City is not showing programs in HD even though in the guide shows the HD symbol. Any thoughts? No other channels have this issue.

What model box?

When on the channel does it show an HD resolution on the front panel?

What zip code?

Anything done recently when the issue started?

Reset the box?

Unplugged power for a minute?

Menu > Settings > Display > Preferences > Guide HD Channels. Change from Hide SD Duplicates to Hide HD Channels. Exit menu completely, give it a minute and then go back in and put the setting back. See if that reminds it to pull in the HD version. You can also check Show All Channels and switch between the SD and HD channels side by side to see if there is any difference (in case the HD quality is lower for the channel for some reason making it seem like it is SD).

Menu > Settings > Display > Resolutions. Verify the highest one your TV supports is checked.

Probably nothing to do with your equipment, or DirecTV. The station is probably having technical issues that cause them to send direcTv their sd signal. Call the station and ask to talk to the station engineer.

yeah don’t think it’s my equipment. When I look at the channel info this it what it shows and I assume the SD means standard definition.

Ya, my local CW in Madison, WI., is not HD. It is broadcast in digital to ATT Directv, apparently. I don't watch it, so don't have it as a selected channel. Yes, the SD is Standard Digital. NO HD

Pixelated audio/video on one specific local channel is an issue with that channel’s broadcasting to you and usually not an issue with your equipment. As DIRECTV sends whatever audio/video is given to them by the network/broadcaster, you’ll need to contact your local CW station to let them know that their New Mexico local is pixelated on DIRECTV satellite.
