DIRECTV App work while moving?

We are getting to start an extensive move and remodal project on a house we will eventually be moving into. All our stuff is going into storage once this starts... does anyone know if the Directv app will still work for streaming on devices like tablets/phone/etc if your receiver & dish are not hooked up?

If you leave your account active, then you should still be able to use the app. However, it will not allow you to stream/cast/airplay to a TV. Keep in mind your services are not discounted by having equipment in storage.

If the move and remodel are going to take months, you might consider suspending your service. Max 6 months within a 12 month period and is only a $7 monthly vacation hold as opposed to paying your normal service. Just an option to save costs if the mobile-only viewing is not worth it for you based on still paying full cost.

As a note, make sure all your TVs will be there for your Movers install appointment. Techs are only supposed to install the boxes for TVs already there so they can verify cabling is the correct length and everything works. Agents also tend to offer upgrade options at this time, but not all upgrades are equal. What are the models of each box you have? Best to find out what would be optimal for your setup, or if you have what is ideal for you already.

Your account has to be active to view DirecTV on the app

Account would be active; just wouldn’t have have a receiver hooked up since it would be in storage. Would that effect the app usage piece?

Left the account active and it worked... no dish or anything connected and app works just as intended. Thanks!
