future compatible 3D TV's
I own a Samsung PN51D550C1F and switched to Directv for the 3D programming. After installation, I realized the 3D channels are only mirrored. Is there an adaptor of some sort or any way to find out if a firmware update is available? Also, is there any way to get an updated listing of the newly added compatible 3D TV's or do I check online every few weeks?

http://support.directv.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2823/session/L3RpbWUvMTMxMzQ1NDg0NC9zaWQvTkg0KlhEQms= would seem to indicate Samsung isn't involved with adapters. The TV manufacturer is the best source for firmware update information. DirecTV isn't buying TVs to test so the best source is probably the satellite TV forums to find people who have sets and have tried them. There is one such thread here at http://forums.directv.com/message/10886686#10886686 and DBSTalk, com is probably another place to check.

Could you please define "mirrored"? It isn't a normal term used for 3D programming. If you mean a "side-by-side" picture, that would be correct but your Samsung out of the box is already compatible with at least channel 103 and 107. If I knew what you meant by mirrored I might be able to provide more information.

I recently purchased a Samsung 3D TV model UN60D7000VF and can't get any 3D channels. Directv customer service tells me my TV is to new and not compatible and is not on their list of 3D TVs that are. For now, I have to watch 3D DVDS to get the 3D experience. Hope their tecnology improves soon! Also Best buy told me that I need a 3D HDMI cable to get 3D programming. Not sure if that is true!

People may throw around terms like HDMI 1.4 cable or 3D cable but there is really no such animal. What is needed for Blu-Ray 3D is a cable that supports those functions, a high speed HDMI cable. http://www.monoprice.com/home/home.asp?pn=help&idx=2
A high speed HDMI cable is often needed if there is a supported device between receiver and TV such as a switch or switching AV receiver.
For a direct connection between DirecTV receiver and supported TV, any HDMI cable should work. DirecTV uses a different method from Blu-Ray and that's why some TVs don't work. They don't support DirecTV's non standard system. Why the methodology chosen is different, I couldn't say.
