Getting error message "Too many active locations"

I have several minis, but only one gets this message and it gets the message even when no other locations are active.  HR44 500

I tried resetting mini several times with no luck, however, resetting HR 44 seemed to do the trick.  Thanks

What are all of the receivers models? Have you tried pressing the red reset button on all receivers (right side for the Genie Minis and front behind the door that says “PUSH” for HR44 series). When did this problem start, any recent changes?

This is unacceptable.

I'm a DirecTv customer of 27 years.  I'd hate to do the math on how much I've spent on being able to watch TV.

I literally have a sports bar in my lower level.  I have 5 tvs in one room and need this issue fixed as soon as possible.

Having the "To many locations on" without telling me which locations AND only have 2 tvs on at one time, was a clear indication that there is still a serious issue with the latest 'so-called' update.  As well, I spent the last 2 days with Tech (about an hour each time) trying to troubleshoot this as well.  No Luck.

Losing 'Sunday NFL Ticket' was about the last straw, this is really trying our patience.

I've chatted with Tech 4 times, in the last 2 days, trouble-shooting this issue. All they can tell me is that DirecTv is working on it, and it's a known problem for customers with the Genie2 Systems and the current New Updates.

What you want to do is indeed possible with the proper equipment. For five TVs you would need an HS17 Genie Server with five mini Genie Clients. What equipment do you have now?

DIRECTV HR54 HD DVR, 4 minis and a 4K hardwired mini.  I realized I can only have 3 of the minis on at the same time plus the main unit.

The other two tvs are out of the game-room, and are usually occupied by AppleTvs

If a mini is "on" it uses a tuner even if you are not watching it

Yeah, I totally get it. I’ve had the same set up for the last five years and have been running it flawlessly since then, knowing exactly which TVs can be on and can’t be on at the same time and actually physically turning the mini off in order to have the other ones on. I troubleshoot with three different tech people over the last couple days as well trying to figure this out and they’ve all been very helpful, but there’s been absolutely no resolution.

There is nothing to troubleshoot an HR44/54 Genie can only stream to 3 minis at a time while the HS17 Genie2 can stream to 7.

Like I said earlier, you'll need an HS17 setup to do what you want.

RE: litzdog911

I've had same equptment for years now with no issues... I get that 'changing my equipment 'may' help, but I'm interested in why the new February Updated messed everyone up with my set up.  Word for word from the Tech, "Thousands of customers have my same setup, with the same issue.  DirecTv is working on it"....  2 months later...

Im having the same issue for the past 2 months. Ive had a tech out and he says it's a known issue. That doesn't help me at all. The only thing I can do for now is unplug all minis and plug in the one you want to watch. The first 3 will work. Any others will not work even if the first there you plugged in are off. This problem must not be a priority for Directv since they've known about it for 2 months and nothings changed. I have an Hr54 server 4 clients and 3 DVR's in my Casita on a separate dish. If I change to the  New server it's not compatible with my DVRs. Im beyond frustrated with Directv. Im on the verge of firing their over priced service and get something that WORKS!!!!

It will be come a priority when customers start leaving for other cheaper streaming services...
