Guide has only one channel and is highlighted grey

Looks like you set up a custom favorites list (custom 2) with just one channel. See the "custom 2" reference in the top center. select menu-settings-favorite channels then choose a list. Maybe all channels. Or make custom 1 or custom 2 your favorites list
