has anyone been able to connect the Cinema Direct router adapter to an Apple Airport Extreme?

The cinema direct wireless router recognizes my wireless network and those around my residence, but it will not accept my security code. It will not work even when I removed the security protection from my "guests" wireless access. When I try the "network equivalence password" it has too many characters for the direct cinema router to accept. I've removed any special characters from the network name and the passwords--no luck.

If you attempt to connect the Wireless Kit to a router that has a SSID that has characters, then remove them, you have to clean out the Kit and start fresh.  I'm assuming you're using the Ethernet option.  Here's how to get a fresh start.

Disconnect the CCK from the DVR but leave the AC connected. Use a ball point pen to reset the CCK in the small hole on the back. Check that the router has DHCP enabled (essential) and has no MAC or firewall enabled. Assure that the network name and password contains no symbols other than numbers and letters. Do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR.  When it's all booted up, connect the Ethernet jumper cable from the CCK to the DVR and select your network and enter the password. You may get an invite to connect, is so, accept. If not do thus:  Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> restore defaults -> connect now. You should get a "connected to Internet" message. Allow 24 hours for the system to download then try downloading a concert from channel 1239 as a test.

Well something worked. I'm not sure if it was the "reset" of the red button on the DVR box or I made my network "closed"--most likely it was the red button. Thank You

I am having terrible trouble connecting my Directv Cinema router. I have a Mac, an Airport Extreme, and other wireless devices in the house that work fine. I go through the set up onscreen (I have a HD-DVR HR23-700), and everything works except it does not accept my security key. I have renamed the network so it is all letters, no symbols or apostrophes. Also, I tried the advanced set up and it accepts the IP, DNS, SUBNET etc as "ok" but it will not connect. Help! I have a Speedstream 5100 modem if this helps. Also, thank you but i just tried the suggestion of remove ethernet, reset CCK, reboot DVR (red button), then reconnect Ethernet but unfortunately same problem. I also tried the Advanced Set up and no internet.  Please if anyone has a Mac, and Airport Extreme with a Speedstream modem and you have been able to connect the CCK, please tell me the secret.

your DNS servers dont appear to be valid.  try changing those values to the ones on my picture.  I use open DNS as my DNS servers.

Thank you for the idea. I made some dns changes, a CCK reset, and HD-DVR Receiver red button reset. Next went to Settings, Network Settings, and Advanced setup, and clicked the tab to reset the defaults. Success! - the internet connection went through. It did not ask for a security passwork key.

So, my process was to (1) Change my network name to remove any special characters like the Apostrophe's or Ambersands (&); (2) changed my DNS to a code from Open DNS; (3) perform CCK reset; then (4) Reset the advanced settings (in Network Settings) to restore defaults.

The CCK is sent as a "self-install" device when it mostly requires a lot of professional technical advice. Thanks again and I hope this helps someone else.
