How to get closed captioning
Before my Genie was programmed to my television, my tv remote would allow me to enact closed captioning. Now that the Genie is programmed to my tv, I can't utilize my closed captioning via my tv menu. When going thru the menu on Genie, I can't find an option for closed captioning, and I need it because I'm hard of hearing and most of the time can't understand what is being said, and I can't turn my tv up loud. Please let me know if anyone has this problem. I read forum questions about CC. but they are from 5 years ago, and the remote options are different now, because I tried their instructions, and the options they talk about are no longer. Thank You 😊

Press INFO then right arrow to CC on the DTV remote.
You may need to change the TVs input/source to ANT to get the CC menu back on the TV.

Are you seeing any black rectangle on your TV screen? Do you have closed captioning enabled on both your TV set and U-verse TV settings? If yes, we suggest that you disable close captioning on the TV set and then verify the settings on your U-verse TV using System information, located in Options > System.

If it was either of the options for DirecTV CC/subtitles, just press INFO and scroll to the right where the CC options are.
If you mean your TV's own CC, for that you need to use the TV's remote to set the option.
