How to watch my Direct TV outside of the US

I was told I can watch Direct TV in Canada. But it doesn't seem to work and the online agent said can't watch outside of US. Any help?

DirecTV is not licensed to be broadcast/streamed outside of the country. So you cannot access service while in Canada.

The option is using MobileDVR to copy recordings (while at home) to a mobile device (smart phone/tablet) for travel. The recordings last for 30 days. Must have 2nd generation Genie (HR44) or up for this option.

although it's technically illegal, there are many people who watch Directv because they are close to the border and the sat signal still works. But you have to have a US address and take the equipment with you. And if Directv finds out they are liable to cut off your service.
