I am finally fed up
This company was great before the "great" tech giant AT&T bought them out and since then directv has been trash. Between the customer service, the up charges and absolutely everything I have been a customer since 2011 but do these over paid (Edited per community guidelines) care? Surprise NOPE! Then they cancel KENS5 which is CBS in TX because "they aren't getting the money they want" while raising everyone's rates....SERIOUSLY?! Well I have given up on you Directv and in the next few weeks I will transfer to something that will cost me 160 a year for everything and more than Directv can give and not 230 a month...good bye you awful awful corporation that gives no s*** about it's customers!

This has nothing to do with AT&T acquiring DirecTV. Negotiations with channels is normal as well as the annual price adjustment. Was happening for years before AT&T. As for local channels pulling the feed, that applies to all TV providers at one time or another is more common in recent years. Remember Nexstar? They did the same to DirecTV and now again with Dish.
In the end only Tegna that owns the channels may choose to return them. If they get the higher rates they want (sounds like a billion or so extra a year), then our bills go up. You complain about higher rates well consider where those came from, which would be prior negotiations. So the more channel owners raise rates to TV providers, then our bills go up. Unless a way can be found to stop the increasing rates from the channel owners, then this is how it will keep going for all TV providers.
But also keep in mind that this is a single channel still free over the regular airways. Take a breath and use a regular antenna or watch one of the many other channels you actually went to pay TV for.

What do you think causes DTV to raise their rates? Tenga removed their feed because DTV will not pay what they are asking to renew the contract, if DTV caves in and pays them their rates will have to be raised even higher then they planned. All providers have this problem so are you going to provider hop when your new provider has this problem and has to raise their rates?

You are waiting on a provider to give you NFL Sunday Ticket, PPVs, and movies all for FREE??? Talk about greedy and unrealistic. You want it, you pay for it. If you don't like the cost, don't get it.
There is no provider in existence that will provide you guaranteed channels. This is because they rebroadcast the channels from companies who actually own them (like Tegna). Problem is that local affiliate wants to be paid more and so has pulled the feed. That is their right, as unpleasant as it is to us customers being used as leverage. Sorry but nothing requires Tegna to give you the channels. They will hold out as long as they choose. Until then use a antenna or watch something else.

Sunday ticket is exclusively directv you won’t get it from an other provider
While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.

Out of market games are only on NFL Sunday Ticket. The NFL doesn't allow a separate option for what is not in-market. DirecTV is still the exclusive option for it.
Local channels will be for what is in-market.
You may find it idiotic, but it is up to the NFL how they may be viewed.
