I want my MeTV!
MeTV went away and we have another news channel that I'm not gonna watch. Please put MeTV back in the lineup.

Take it up with your local Dallas/Ft Worth channel, they are the ones that moved it to a sub channel that DTV doesn't carry.

I don't pay the local channel for things. I pay Direct tv for things. Direct tv needs to put things back on that people want to watch. No one asked for another news channel. The local people don't answer their phone or email.

DTV pays your local channel to carry it so yes you are paying for it. Per DTV TOS they can change the channels and programing at anytime and this clause is in all TV providers contracts as they have no control over what is sent to them by the channels.

Hello @texaswilkins. We know how important it is to enjoy your favorite programming.
We'd like to share with you that DirecTV has never carried METV as a nationwide network. It is sometimes broadcasted as a sub-station in some local networks, and the content provider is the one who has the rights to remove or make changes on it's programming.

Why not? With the volume of messages on here its obvious that I'm not the only one over the years that wants it.

prices go up, service goes down and all the phone lines went off shore so you can't even get answers from them. Been waiting on chat over phone or internet for an hour, Great, just flipping great.

DirecTV won't be able to fix this for you. Contact that local station and ask why they dropped MeTV.

It doesn't matter that you pay DirecTV. They don't own the channel. The local affiliate owner chose to move it to one of their sub-channels. No TV provider can stop them from doing so.
DirecTV may only provide you the locals that they have an agreement for and are within your Desgintated Market Area (DMA). As they don't carry sub-channels, then you would need a over-the-air (OTA) antenna to pick up the METV sub-channel if it is within range.

@texaswilkins Since all of the over the air broadcast channels went to digital, every local channel has started broadcasting sub channels on the same frequency. Unfortunately, that’s just not something Directv can do. Every channel requires its own satellite channel. Consequently, Directv simply doesn’t have the satellite capacity to carry all of those sub channels. In my market, Directv doesn’t carry any of the sub channels. There may be some markets where Directv might carry a sub channel but I suspect there are very few. You can blame your local channel for moving METV to a sub channel Directv doesn’t carry. It is totally out of Directv’s control. If you really want that channel and an OTA antenna is not possible, look at cable providers. They don’t have the same restrictions and may very well carry those sub channels.
