Losing OAN

It would be nice if you could talk to someone has some power. Of coarse it is impossible. I am getting tired of DIRECTV making decisions of what I watch. If DIRECTV would give me that decision I would get rid of 90% of the channels I get. Everyone knows that you want a specific channel you always have to upgrade. OAN is a channel I enjoy. But it doesn’t matter they are taking it off because of politics.  One question DIRECTV do you even care about your subscribers?  If you would tell me it is because of low ratings then let me see ratings of all of your channels. I doubt you would do that.  Sorry to everyone that disagrees, thank you to everyone that agrees.

Regardless of the reason for the decision, it was DirecTV's to make. We as individual customers naturally do not have the option to speak to "someone in power" as it is not our place at the negotiating table between networks and the TV provider or to dictate what they are allowed to do.

Networks package those channels to the TV providers, resulting in that being the standard across the board. We as customers can pick the best fitting package and go from there. If you don't like any of the options then you seek elsewhere.

If you want OANN, you go with someone else. You want to have direct influence on the decision or see internal proprietary information, then you get a job with them. As customers we may have influence, but we do not own them.

Since they have been continuing ahead with their decision, apparently, they expect the closed accounts will be within acceptable losses. Time will tell if they calculated that correctly.

But if you want to shut down your account, then call them. Telling other forum users does nothing on your account.

We spoke with a very nice representative from the Retention/Loyalty Department. We explained our disappointment with DirecTV canceling OANN and said that is the reason we are cancelling our subscription to DirecTV. We are still customers until April 6. In our conversation we also stated that we really like DirecTV and hate to go but their decision to drop OANN is the deal breaker for us. Our service has been with DirecTV since Primestar, if anyone here remembers that.

Dropping OAN is ridiculous!!!   CNN is the network that should be dropped. CNN is merging with Discovery because the networks lack of viewers has effected the revenue the network earns. CNN is at an all time low in ratings and viewers. OAN is gaining viewers and CNN is losing viewers ....yet you decided to drop OAN....(Edited per community guidelines) in charge at Direct TV!
