Programming

Up through 12/18, I had ESPN News (channel 207) in my package. Starting on 12/19 that channel is no longer available. Please advise.

Thanks, Mary Beth

What do you mean by "no longer available"? What message do you see when you tune directly to Ch 207? What channel package do you subscribe to?

It has error code 721 and says its unavailable. It says if you expect to see this channel as part of your package to call customer service and report code 721. However I don't even see it in the guide as available.

Well first of all what is the exact name of your pogramming package? If you have a package that includes it, try www.directv.com/refresh to see if it is just a service authorization issue.

For reference:

ESPN and ESPN2: Entertainment, Choice, Xtra (and Preferred Xtra), Ultimate, Premier

ESPNews and ESPNU: Choice, Xtra (not Preferred Xtra), Ultiamte, Premier.

ESPN Classic: Sports Pack premium (Premier includes this premium)

My programming package is ENTERTAINMENT ALL INCLUDED. But my general point was, my package hasn't changed. Nothing on my end has changed, it seems the channel has been removed from the package with no notification.

Try refreshing your subscription authorization at www.directv.com/refresh

If that doesn't work, you'll need to call them at 1 800 531 5000

ESPNews is not part of Entertainment, never has been. It should only be available when DirecTV does their free preview week of Xtra which showcases channels from a more expensive package.

If you had ESPNews outside of that free preview time, then that would have been a system error.

ESPNews has required Choice and up, so Entertainment is one level too low.
