VideoGuard Kafkaesque Loop
Until about a week ago, I was able to watch DirecTV on my computer through any browser. That's when I got the message to install VideoGuard. I did. Tried again, and it told me to install it again. Here are all the things I've done to solve this issue which prevents me from watching on my computer, which I was able to do without issue before:
- I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it.
- I've tried Chrome, Edge and Firefox. BTW, Opera is "incompatible" with DirecTV.
- I've cleared the cookies from the DirecTV site, in all browsers. (this was my workaround when the pop-up watcher wasn't working properly, sometimes.)
- I've rebooted, many times.
While typing this, I was on the phone with DirecTV customer service. I was told "this is a known issue" that the techs are working on and I should get a notification in 24-48 hours. I won't hold my breath.

Read my post "NBC.COM invalid token", just below this one.
Maybe some variations, but does it sound similar?
I've reported it as well. Pretty much got the same feedback.

This is a customer to customer forum not DTV support that you have to call.

I'm well aware this isn't customer support, but the first respondent is @DIRECTVhelp who asked follow up questions, then ghosted the thread. Also, the email promised by DirecTV support within 48 hours never materialized. I know they monitor these channels, so I'm calling them out for their horrific follow through and support.
