Why am I not getting ALL of the NFL games although I am paying for NFL Sunday Ticket?

When local channels are blacked out, I can not see the NFL game even though I am paying to see every game on NFL Sunday Ticket.

DTV no longer has the broadcast rights to NFL Sunday Ticket that went to Youtube.  When a local channel has the broadcast rights to a game the NFL blocks access from all others even if that local station is in a dispute with a TV provider and is no longer being carried by them.

First of all, the NFL Sunday Ticket does NOT give you all the games. It never has. It gives you all the OUT-OF-MARKET games. Any games that show on a local channel are IN-MARKET so the NFL doesn't allow you to watch them elsewhere.

Secondly, DirecTV doesn't have the NFL Sunday Ticket anymore for residential customers. This year YouTube has it as the NFL decided to go with streaming.

It is interesting because the merch that I receive to advertise that I have NFL Sunday Ticket (at my business, not my residence) says Every Live Game Every Sunday!

You should have mentioned that at the beginning, as directv for business customers do get NFL SUNDAY TICKET through EverPass. Still, what Juniper mentioned earlier is still applicable.

The NFL Sunday Ticket may technically have all the games, but they are subject to blackout rules. So if a game is on a local channel for where you are located then it must be watched there because that channel has the rights to the game.

For the time being, the business option remains. But it does not change how blackouts work.

This is something local channels depend on as they prefer their carriage agreement to end during major sports seasons. The hope is they upset customers enough to force the TV provider to cave to the demands which then eventually raises our bills that much more. I'm guessing you're in a Tegna owned area as that is the current negotiation. Hopefully like when they pulled this 3 years ago that it will not last long.

Every out of market

game not in market. NFL Sunday ticket has NEVER included in market games regardless of whether your local network channel is in a current carriage dispute or not. local in market games will never be on Sunday ticket.

Oh and just an FYI, it's Regular season Sunday afternoon games only. No preseason,  post season  or super bowl coverage and no evening games

I think the issue is NFL has advertised it as having "Every Game, Every Sunday". That simplified slogan doesn't clarify that you only can access out-of-market games (plus being in-season only as well).

All TV providers have contract disputes. It is the owners of you local channel that is not allowing you to watch the games not DTV.

@Nbnverb

Changing providers does not change blackout rules. The NFL Sunday Ticket has always been for out-of-market games. If a game is in-market then it shows on a local channel. That doesn't change if your TV provider is going through carriage negotiation with them or doesn't have that specific local to begin with.

All TV providers go through carriage negotiations because they don't own the channels. You will not find a TV provider immune from them. Go with whatever one works for you, but finally do understand the reality of how this all works.

And right now you can thank Tegna for taking their channels away to try and raise costs.
