Why can't I watch a program on DVR already in progress?
If I watch a program from DVR on my TV - lets say half way. Why wont the iOS app (playing same program from DVR at home on the same personal network) pick up where it left off? The iOS app always tries to play from the start and does NOT allow fast forward. Its of no use unless it can continue from where it left off like watching on multiple TV satellites in the home.

Hello @theilliniguy,
I understand your concern in regards to your DVR iOS issue, so let's see what we can do!
When you mention you aren't able to fast forward, are you getting some kind of error message or is the fast forward button blocked out?
Hope to hear from you soon.

Most of the OnDemand channels, including those on the DirecTV App, do not support FF. They want to force us to watch their commercials.

Well I get that, but why would that apply to a DVR'd program that I've watched 30 minutes of a 90 minute program, and want to join it where I left off?

Are you watching on the TV connected to your DVR? Or on the App?
With the App, if you pause and come back, it's likely switching to the OnDemand stream (no commercial skipping) instead of actually streaming from your DVR. If you download the show from your DVR to your smart phone/tablet, then you can skip commercials.

The scenario is this simple:
#1 Watching DirecTV DVR'd show (1 hour long in total) on TV connected to DirecTV DVR. Watch 30 minutes. Turn off.
#2 Walk to bedroom, turn on 2nd TV which is also connected to a DirecTV DVR and continue watching from stop point in #1. Watch 15 minutes. Stop. (15 minutes left)
#3 Walk to kitchen and open iPad DirecTV app, select WATCH DVR, and the show is at the beginning only and cannot be moved to the 15 minutes reaming point.
Why on earth should I have to download the program and then fast forward to 15 minutes when the DVR is holding the program at that point already? It should just work! Lets get this fixed.

Hello @theilliniguy,
As stated by @litzdog911, if you would like to skip the commercials, simply download the shows on your mobile device.
In the meanwhile I will also escalate this feedback to the proper departments for review.
Thanks for being part of the AT&T family, should you need help with anything else, please don't hesitate to reach back out.

Don't get confused! I NEVER said skip commercials. I said let me start watching where I left off on other sources!

Hello @theilliniguy,
Yes, you would have to download to your device because it works off a different program and your receivers are sync together.
