Why is there a DIRECTV logo/watermark on the 1080p version of the movie I am watching (Constantine)?

I am livid.  I pay for high quality content.  I pay for high quality hardware to display content.  Why does DirecTV ruin my experience by imposing their logo over the content.   Whose DUMB idea was this?  You should reduce the price of my extremly expensive subscription if you insist on ruining my experience.

Is this new?  Which movies have this.     Please stop this nonsense.

I would expect such a watermark to identify pirated content if someone were to try and sell it off on another form of media. The content is licensed for viewing on our DirecTV equipment, but we don't own the programming. Movie being almost 20 years old doesn't change that.

We don't get our bills lowered for protections they decide to put in. If you can't watch it with that logo than you watch something else.

I understand media content licensing.  I might understand if I were watching an academy streamer.  But not regular content I PAY FOR.  This is an intrusion.  Guess you arn't much of a movie fan.

Pay TV doesn't stop the logo. Individual networks occasionally put their own logo on.

If you don't want the logo than you go to the theatre or buy the movie. I don't care how much of a "movie fan" you claim to be (and apparently judge others beneath you with such a comment), you don't control how the licensing and watermarks work. You don't like it than you have other options to watch.

We understand that can be a huge distraction and we want you to enjoy your service. Let's try to reset your receiver and load the movie again. You can reset it by pressing the power button on your receiver for 15 seconds.

Thank you for the suggestion Maria.  Interestingly enough.  The logo is gone now.  All I did was close my TV and go to bed.  After reading your suggestion (to Restart the receiver) I was about to do that and thought I'd take a look to confirm it was still there this morning. .......It wasn't.

I'm a little confused about what was happening here.  Was the logo a mistake or possibly a new policy being tested.  While things like this are liable to happen on live PPV events.  I hope premium content is not going to do this.  Does DirecTV put a logo on 4K content?
