Direct TV and their continuing "dropped channel negotiations"
This is the second time in two months that Direct TV has dropped a channel because they are "Negotiating". We pay their bills and the CEO gets their money. They should be negotiating before the contract expire and not put the VIEWERS who pay their bills in the middle. I for one am tired of this crap. I have been with Direct TV for over 20 years and it looks like they are not going to fix this problem but hold their patrons hostage. There are other services available and on line streaming is becoming one to look at. DIRECT TV seems to be only concerned about what goes directly into the CEO's pocket. On the top of this page they ask you to write your congressman and senators. Again they want you to do the work for them. By the way Senators estimate that for every letter they get there are a hundred more thinking the same thing but never take the time to give their opinions.

Why has Fox channel 23 been removed?.
When will it be restored?

If Directv does not resolver their dispute with Cox by the time the Super Bowl kicks off, I will be leaving Directv and AT&T. I already lost my local NBC station for nearly three weeks because of a dispute with Tegna. If I miss the Super Bowl because of another dispute I will leave. It is unforgivable for you to do this to your customers in the middle of a pandemic when everyone is supposed to stay at home.

Hi! @StephenHG We had hoped to avoid any interruption of this channel. Unfortunately, we are still working with Cox Media Group, the owner of this channel, to secure an agreement, please visit The promise. more information and alternatives to watch similar content.

I'm not sure what it took, but kudos for getting the Boston market Fox channel back on. I assume all the negotiations are done, including CBS and therefore, the Super Bowl, in the other markets. I hope they were reasonable in negotiations and our prices are not going to increase!

Prices will most likely increase, but hopefully the continued negotiations did mitigate by how much. Each year's price adjustment factors in the prior negotiations. Usually we will get the notice in December about what we will see in January (or February depending on bill cycle dates). So the current price adjustment would be for negotiations that completed before this one.

I know there is a statement saying Juniper is not an employee but he sure talks like one! Is he really perfectly satisfied with Direct TV? Interesting how Direct TV comes up with alternatives for FREE ways to compensate for the disruption until they get the pricing they want. Begs the question... why am I paying for this? In our case, we won't be much longer.

@Nanab
Been around long enough to understand reality instead of making false accusations and unrealistic demands. I don't like when negotiations take away channels enjoyed. And short term alternatives may be offered of course as they work on long-term (i.e. next carriage agreement, not permanent) answers.
If you don't want to keep paying for this much longer that is up to you. Go back to regular antenna TV and that is how you avoid being affected by negotiations. Going to any other TV provider and it is just a matter of time for the next one that affects you as they all go through this.
(oh and it is DirecTV, not Direct TV. Just to be sure you don't fall for any scams or false sites by the wrong brand name)

Employees are tagged as such but even employees in here are here on their own time off the clock. And in no official capacity.

Why would I go to antenna TV where there are dozens of streaming services and I can skip from one to another at will? No connection, no box. It's the 21st century!

Goodbye Directtv.....I've been a customer for over 20 years. I'M LEAVING YOU .... Your negotiations to turn ESPN back on required renewal/adding channels which nobody cares about or watches. Actually there are way too many fringe channels which I've never watched or care about.

All content providers bundle their channels, DTV and other TV providers can only choose the package they feel best suits their customers. There are enough people watching them for the content providers to keep them.
