Want to disconnect service now that ESPN, Disney and ABC are gone.

Want to disconnect service now that ESPN, Disney and ABC are gone.

I am unable to get anyone on the phone or online to speak with directly about this. DirecTV has gone straight down the tubes and continues to hemorrhage customers every quarter to the tune of hundreds of thousands.

There are better services for MUCH less money.

That website is just the redirect for tvpromise.com

I put in my zipcode and service and it does nothing. Search button grays out and that's it.

You have to call DTV to cancel your service.  DTV no longer prorates the final bill so you pay for and receive service until the end of your billing cycle.

Hi there. We don't want you to go, and we apologize for your experience. DIRECTV is actively working with Disney to renew its channels while also giving customers more flexibility and control over the channels they watch and the price they pay. DIRECTV appreciates your patience and regrets any temporary inconvenience. Arlyn, DIRECTV Community Specialist

@QABDJTV

To cancel DirecTV you must call them (say "cancel" at the voice prompt to minimize transfers). That is the only way you can cancel. Naturally they are very busy right now because people in our country go overboard on sports and with a Federal holiday more people are off work so have time to call.

As for down the tubes, have a reality check. Disney wants to be paid more. Either DirecTV caves and has to raise bills that much more as a result or they continue negotiating. And Disney does this with other providers as well when their agreements come up. So you can thank Disney for using you to raise costs.

And price adjustment with DirecTV is annually, as in once a year. The last one was a couple months sooner which was an exception, otherwise get new rates effective in January. If your bill goes up every quarter then it is time to read your bill. Look for promotional discounts that have ended or any one-time costs (such as PPV) because DirecTV does not adjust rates every quarter.

I can’t edit my post for some reason. I have ABC and my zipcode is 40203.

How long will it be before ABC/Disney/ESPN is available? I don’t want to stream it later, that’s why I have a TV!! I’m in Chicago and you’re not the only provider here!

I think this only affects ABC-owned affiliate stations, not all of ABC. The lose of ESPN will impact folks the most.

ABC, out... ESPN, off the air... what a bunch of crap... we pay through the nose for this stuff and suddenly, as you set down to watch Sunday night game, "no access"... contract negotiations... See UTUBE as alternate to stupid DirectTV (why did I leave Xfinity... why!!)....

Any estimate on how long ESPN channels will be shut down? Customer for 29 years and the one thing I watch religiously is the US Open and all I get is a rude message about Disney Negotiations.

All TV providers have this problem so changing is a short term solution.

This is why you are paying through the nose, the content providers and local channels want more money when their contacts expire with the TV providers.

Switching isn't the answer since these types of blackout issues affect the entire industry.  DIRECTV is always working with broadcasters and channels to align the value and quality customers receive with the price they pay. We appreciate your understanding. Arlyn, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Also called direct TV was connected to sales … they said they couldn’t help me last night … they went to connect me to the OFFICe … was after hours … to.d me to call back and then got disconnected.  They should have had people in their offices all weekend dealing with clients for this.  Budweiser got toasted a few years ago …Direct TV is next.  Poor customer service!

Have fun switching when your new provider has the same thing happens to them.
