I believe a non-destructive dvr/receiver reset might work to restore the pin to it's initial condition (no pin I think). Look at the solution in this thread, item 3, Perform Recovery on Device in the part describing Non-Disaster Recovery.
If that doesn't reset the pin you can resort to full Disaster Recovery also describer in that same Perform Recovery on Device section. Note that for the DVR that will delete all your recorded programs so you don't want to do this on the dvr if you don't have to.
