Watching DIRECTV

Direct tv app on my Apple TV doesn’t not show any video. It only shows audio. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it twice, there’s no updates for the app and I’ve turned reset the wifi already and restarted my Apple TV but no luck. Thanks in advance for any help

My Direct TV remote only allows me to go to the guide and choose a channel to watch. If I want to change channels, I must go back to the Guide and select the program I want to watch. Why won't the remote allow me to change channels without the middle step

I have my new ATT Direct TV set up. I have to go to the Guide to choose a program. I'd like to be able to change channels with my remote but it does not allow me to "channel surf". I must go to the Guide every time I want to change to a different station.
