Watching on Satellite

I changed out my tv and hooked up to HDMI 1, then HDMI 2. the tv comes on for a few seconds then shuts off. both the TV and the Cable box are both on. how do I get it to stay on?

This just started today. Every few seconds HDMI1 appears at the very top of TV. I made sure the DIRECTV HDMI was securely plugged in. Anything else I can tey?
