DIRECTV dropping OANN?

This has been a bone of contention for many of us here. The cancellation department has been very busy. 

Now your only good choice is Newsmax. 

Our argument has been, if we don't like a channel we skip over it and watch what we want to but at least give us that choice. 

Did you get an answer?  No one at DirecTV or AT&T seems willing to answer the question "Why did you cancel OAN news channel?"  Suggestions I have heard are that these big corporations are being run by narrow-minded, intolerant liberals who fear views that are not consistent with their own woke views.

DTV didn't renew the contract that ended in April.

The answer has been it was a decision from an "internal review". Many people believe it was influenced by outside forces, as stated in the many threads in the forum or other discussions found all over the web. But so far, AT&T/DirecTV have not explained any further what that "internal review" actually entailed.

Lost its primary funding.

@DIRECTVhelp thanks for your reply. But I wonder what metrics you are using to cut programming. Was OANN that unpopular? What other networks have you recently culled, because this looks like it is political, not financial. Cutting popular minority voices is not a good look for the ATT brand, I would think. 

It could not have been ratings or revenue generation call, since OANN ranks higher Nationally than CNN. It had to be a inside call,  or OANN just asked for too much money to rebroadcast.  Either way we don't make broadcasting calls thats way above anyones head here.

AT&T let the contract expire because they don't like OANN. My bill better go down now.

Sorry, your bill won’t go down. Channels are added and dropped all the time, the package price stays the same.

It doesn't stay the same. It just keeps going up. I just recently retired and, while I can still afford my package, it's ridiculously high for all the "junk" that's in it and the "services" AT&T offers. I had a free equipment upgrade, but they told me I would have to make a two year commitment to get it. Never had to before. Just to upgrade from the HR44 to the HR54 so I could get 4K. Time to go to streaming services. Getting three streaming services for a total of approx. $21/month beats the $121.99/month plus the $10/month for DVR and $10/month for HD.
