I work in the front lines at a hospital. Direct t.v treated me awful and refused to work with me when I was trying to pay. They shut off my service and refused . I'm a front line worker who's kids have no television bc direct tv

If you are past due, you might be able to get an extension of so many days to get some extra time to pay before you are shut off. Once turned off then you must pay balance in full to reinstate the service. This applies to all customers.
I suspect it is not the agent treating you awful, but simply their hands were tied as they can only work within the options built into the system. DirecTV being an entertainment service, not a necessity, does not receive additional protections to stay on like other needed services (electric, water, etc.).
