Front line worker that direct t.v refused to work withand was treated awful. I'm a hospital worker dealing covidand direct tv treatedawful

I work in the front lines at a hospital. Direct t.v treated me awful and refused to work with me when I was trying to pay. They shut off my service and refused . I'm a front line worker who's kids have no television bc direct tv

If you are past due, you might be able to get an extension of so many days to get some extra time to pay before you are shut off. Once turned off then you must pay balance in full to reinstate the service. This applies to all customers.

I suspect it is not the agent treating you awful, but simply their hands were tied as they can only work within the options built into the system. DirecTV being an entertainment service, not a necessity, does not receive additional protections to stay on like other needed services (electric, water, etc.).

Obviously whoever posted last is direct tv employee. I tried to pay but every person I talk to gave diff answer. Not to mention 3xs I was told a supervisor would call me for help and never happened . So I will say again I'm a frontline worker at a hospital dealing with these times and direct tv basically spit in my face and lied to me. Obviously they claim to care during times but refused to help and repeatedly lied to a 10year frontline customer. . I email news station

Sorry but your "obviously" is wrong. I am not an employee. Just a customer who understands the reality.

I respect you are going through hard times. But unfortunately that does not give you leniency on your DirecTV bill.

You dont know my bill situation . Explain why multiple times I cant get the supervisor to call me after repeated attempt and rep tells me I will receive call to handle issue . They have lied multiple times . What customer cares so much to defend them so much. Once again direct t.v will not work or help first responders at all

You have said you are shut off and that they are refusing to work with you. That implies you are in a past due situation and are requesting some kind of accommodation to turn service back on without full payment.

While service is active but past due, you can see about getting a payment arrangement which is an extension of a few days before service is interrupted. Once the service is turned off, there is no option other than paying balance in full to reinstate service. That is the same for all of us.

All we can do is work with options on our account BEFORE it is the point of shut-off. Payment arrangement if we need a few more days for the current bill, and perhaps reducing services to make the bill easier going forward until we feel it is within budget to raise back up. Once interrupted, then we have to pay our bill and get it turned back on before we can adjust services to be more budget friendly.

DirecTV is an entertainment service so does not get the extra protections or specials that more necessary communication (phone/internet) get. So AT&T has some additional options for First Responders, just not for TV service which is still categorized as entertainment. If that changes as the situation continues, they will update their Covid-19 page accordingly. They have a specific section with what exactly is available for First Responders.

Any frontline workers stand with me after how they treated someone who has put my life on the line then they treat me like that not to mention I've been with them 10years and they treat me like garbage.

I've been with att for 10years I'm a rehab therapist dealing with covid patients allday. Direct t.v refused to work with me and treated me so awful
