Most likely it was a SCAM.
Call DirecTV at their actual number yourself .... 1 800 531 5000, and verify any "special deals".

Too often a scam with the Caller ID info spoofed. Even for legitimate offers, from experience they tend not to be explained well leading to wrong expectations (think many of these are from 3rd party outbound sales).
Best to call DirecTV's official number to see what is available for your account. Call the number directly, not redialing from Caller ID to avoid calling back a spoof'd number.
