Refund after closing account

I closed my account and returned all equipment required in Sep 2020. Received a final billing statement (dated 9/16/2020) that indicates Total Amount Due back to me is $13.46. Yesterday I received a DirecTV Prepaid Mastercard, but the value indicated is only for $5.69. What happened to the $13.46 refund?

You will need to call DirecTV as this is just a public forum of other customers. We cannot see your account.

It does suggest that something affected the account balance after the bill was produced but before the card was issued. Refunds tend not to be issued until after 30 days from canceling the account to make sure all billing is caught up first. Since it is a small amount I wonder if they found any PPV orders on the access card(s) of the returned equipment.

@Juniper that's what I'm thinking too, a PPV recovery from the access card on the returned equipment

Thanks for inputs, but it is not a PPV charge (wish it was). Called a DirectTV and got an incomprehensible explanation saying it was reduced due to a service charge associated with a phone request (or query) made by me.

That explanation doesn't make sense, unless perhaps you had a combined bill with AT&T. Closes thing to that which would be DirecTV specific is a $5 phone transaction fee for paying over the phone or ordering a PPV through a live agent.

If you make a further call to DirecTV, when you get the voice system say "cancel". Hopefully an experienced retention agent would explain that more clear than whoever you spoke to prior did.
