Anyone with a NON-DVR receiver get the update yet?

I have and HR20 and an H21. Have the update on the HR20 but not the H21. Just anxious and wondering how long I have to wait to take advantage of this.

TIA,

Joe

I have a similar setup as you. I have the HD DVR and the new H21 HD receiver. From what I have read, the non HD receivers are not on the rollout as of now. I would assume they would start the rollout once the DVR's get their upgrade. Just my 2 cents....

Unknown, but rumor has it that rollout is about to or has just begun for HD receivers like your H21..

Thanks guys. As soon as someone gets the update on a non-DVR can you post here so I know when to start looking on mine?

Also looking forward to this. My DVR already has the software but my h21 does not.

Same deal here. All my DVRs have taken the MRV update but nothing on the H21 or H23s. As much as I've anticipated this technology being rolled out by DTV I'm not enthusiastic about being another revenue center for DTV after the beta testing is over. As much as I enjoy my satellite TV setup and receivers, there are already TOO MANY add on pricing structures in place. Pay extra for HD, pay extra for DVR, pay extra to get all the "extra" HD channels. Wish they'd buck the trend.

This feature is going to get a lot of subscribers and will be a much used option. Many customers do not have equipment that will network, and many do not have more than one box. It only makes sense to charge the cost of the system to those who use it.
I don't have anymore influence in the cost decision than you do, so there isn't much to be gained by debating the propriety of Directv's decision.

I wasn't debating. I was simply complaining. Thanks all the same. I look forward to being charged the same monthly fee as a subscriber that doesn't know what an ethernet cable is.

Does DishNetwork charge for multi-room viewing? I would think to stay competitive DTV would need to at least offer the service at the same price point as DN.

They don't have it. What they have is the ability to hook up a second TV to the DVR and view a different channel on it (SD only).

Ouch.. then we are at the mercy of captialism...;) or until DN can provide the same service.

Same here I have 2 hd dvrs, 1 sd rec. and 1 h21 hd rec. and still WAITING... for the h21 software.
However I noticed that all my receivers have had there software updated on Wednesdays (different dates) so I just check back every Thursday. ( Not the most useful information I know but its good to know other people are waiting on the software for there h21 too.)

If you turn off the circle of LEDs, you'll know when you got an update. Just tune to a local channel and press the buttons to the right and left of the circle simultaneously 4 times. That will turn off the lights. If the box downloads new software, it will reboot and turn the lights back on.

Who knows? The website mis-informs as do previous posts on other sites and forums.

Multi-Room HD DVR Service (Beta Testing Phase)
If your HD DVRs and HD receivers are currently networked you can watch your HD DVR receiver recordings on any HD receiver on your network. This new DIRECTV service is the Multi-Room HD DVR Service and it is currently available in its Beta form only.

The answer is yes or no. If yes then when did you get the update. With the update then you should be able to view the recorded shows from the hd dvr. Until then you can't view recorded information from a non dvr.

In another week, it'll be a month since they announced the rollout of MRV to the HD DVR's. I'm a patient man, but with one HR20 and one H21 I'm wondering just what the hold-up is for sending out the Receiver software updates. I can understand a couple of weeks delay, but a month is bad PR in my view. "I want my MRV".......sung to the tune of "I want my MTV" by Dire Straits:0)
