Can I put in my shop 400ft away?
We live in Rv’s and we have built a shop 450 ft from the main satellite can we run RG11 and put a receiver in out shop?

That would not be a second service. You are activating the box on the same account, on the same residential address. It receives exactly what your other boxes get from the satellites. It is only a second service if it is another address entirely, as required by Federal regulations.
The difference is that you cannot share recordings between the two as they are separate cabling networks. Recordings share through the coax, not the satellite feed.
RG11 is usually good within 350ft. Some have gotten it to work with up to 500 (total from dish to box), but it gets iffy at the longer distances. DirecTV was not designed for that long a coax run.

Yes, it's not a second service. You can have a second dish (or more!) on the same property. I have a second dish on my garden office. AS Juniper says, the only real downside is the receiver isn't part of "wholehome" so you can't share playlists.

At that distance you would need a separate receiving dish for the shop. Doesn't change the monthly cost (other than the $7 if adding another TV of course) as still part of the same residential address. Just needs to be a full receiver, not a Client. This is because Clients (C31 and up or RVU/DirecTV Ready TV) cannot work without being connected to the main Genie receiver.

That would still be a second service. If I run the main from my splitter I don’t know why that would not work.

They are WRONG!!! But you will have to install the second dish yourself or get an independent contractor to do it.
