Equipment upgrade because the size of home

I had issue with signal to my mini units. Had a rep come out and review the issue. Was informed that my unit is to small for the size of my home of 2500 sqft. The unit I have been set up for around 1100 sqft. Is this a factual issue as the main unit is on one side of the home and the mini is opposite side?

No. Tell us exactly what you have

If you have wireless Mini Genie Clients that are too far away, the installer should provide a Wireless Video Bridge to span the added distance.

Size of unit has nothing to do with range.

What are the exact models of each box you have?

Wired is suggested over wireless because distance, as well as anything between the WVB and wireless Client, can degrade the signal.

HR54-500 is my main unit. It's not the size of the unit I'm questioning but the unit itself being strong enough for the size of the home. The distance from the main unit to the mini is almost 50'

50' should not be a problem.

It the Wireless Minis have connection issues, then a Wireless Video Bridge can be added to increase the range.

HR54-500 is the main unit. I'm referring to the size of the home not the size of the unit. The distance from the main unit to the mini is over 50' and 3 walls between. The bridge I have installed is WVBR0-25 which has not achieved the required strength for the distance

Then the WVB should be relocated.

Isn't the Bridge required to be close to the main unit as it is coaxed into the Dish?

No. The WVB should be midway between the HR54 and your wireless Mini.  You'll need a satellite cable extension for that.  The DirecTV tech should have set it up this way for you.

The wireless video bridge (WVB) is the wireless antenna. As such it should be in reasonable distance of the wireless Mini Genie Client. The distance of the WVB on the coax would essentially be the same as any receiver or wired client, so doesn't have to be super close to the HR54.

I presented the question to the DirecTV tech that came out and he said it wasn't required to be between but should upgrade to the Genie 2 which would solve the issue. But wanted to make sure this was correct and seems we have a conflict of information on this to truly at a halt

no the genie 2 will not solve the problem

get rid of the wireless box, get a wired mini, no more issue with wireless signal
