Replacing old boxes with mini genies

I disconnected the old box, connected the mini genie... Right off the bat in very low quality... Tells me to get pin from main tv, enter the PIN, then tells me to add location. (Only option on screen) clicked add location, then tells me I'm at the limit. Tried calling directv, and they hung up on me and didn't call back. About ready to cut the cord. Any help?
