Software update question

Like everyone else, I was excited about enabling this beta feature at home to try out. I have 2 HD DVRs that are networked. After noting what I needed to do to opt in to the beta trial for MRV, I went around to each HD DVR/Receiver to see if my software had been updated to support multiroom viewing. My HR20-100 had received the update and so I went ahead and "opted in" for the beta trial. It said I had received the update last Wednesday (1/27) However, my HR22-100 has not received the update. Should I be concerned? Is this common for updates to happen on one model but another? Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this matter... Todd

No, you should not be concerned. The update occurs when your DVR or receiver comes up on Directv's list. They stagger the rollout across location and model lines. Be patient, it will be along directly.

Any "rumors" as to when they may begin rolling out software for the Hd "receivers"???? I to am "anxious" to get my H21 that is networked looking at the Playlist of my HR20 which is networked and already has the MRV software.

It's like standing on the street corner in the snow waiting for a bus. Your mind may feel better if you can see a bus coming or have an idea of the bus schedule but the only thing that matters is the bus will get there when it gets there. Patience is about accepting that.

Every, and I repeat every, time there is a new software available we get hundreds of "when me?" posts. A few weeks later we get hundreds of "the new software broke my receiver" posts. We are currently in stage one. Greywolf failed to tell you DJ that you've been added to the "DECA haters" list and are thus pushed automatically to the back of the line. For you I'd estimate the last week of February, possibly the first part of March. That's assuming you don't get any additional demerits in the meantime, heheheh.

greywolf/dcd,
I'm just glad I'm not one of the users that DirecTV sold a Powerline Adapter or ethernet Gaming Adapter kit to as a Networking solution:0) I may very well embrace DECA if DirecTV makes it a rea$onible upgrade!
P.S.
My total networking investment was a 100ft spool of cat5e for my HD DVR and a 50ft spool for my HD receiver.

here is my problem with the staggered role out...w/t/f good does it do me to have this update on one box? in order to beta test this don't I need it on all boxes (or at least 2)? I was, just like everyone else, excited about this...called by cable having neighbor and told him all about it (on my way upstairs to opt in my other receivers) and he got to hear me go through a fit of rage over this. W/T/F???

jess, You'll need to get over it. Directv always uses staged roll outs of new software.

There is not enough bandwidth to update all receivers at once. A rollout is required.

DirecTV doesn't (and probably couldn't if they wanted to) take into consideration what mix of equipment any one customer has. They'll update each locality, each model and even different manufacturers of the same model when they're ready to. I haven't received the update on any of my receivers yet...

Seriously, you are going to sit here and tell me Dave has no idea what equipment I have but I can look under my account settings and see where each receiver is and what model it is...and THEY are the ones that set that up. I can call Dave and he knows which receiver isn't working in my house and knows what to shoot down to it to fix it. Dave know exactly who has what.

I really could give 2 shitakes about this whole deal. It just seems awful idiotic to me to roll it out to one receiver in a house and not to all. Spot beam it to each local and hit all or none of the receivers in that beam...seems pretty simple to me.
