VERY hot weather

Can very hot temps affect reception?  I ask because for about a week to 10 days I had the dreaded 'searching for satellite signal" on quite a few channels and a system test showed several different errors, ranging from dish config problem to dish alignment problem.  I did have to have dish realigned last year after we had some helatious winds for awhile, but at that time I was only getting the dish alignment problem error when I ran system test.  I did call and the tech was very helpful and even set up an appt for next week for dish realignment, but weather cooled down yesterday and now system is functioning perfectly again.  So the only thing I can come up with is that the very hot temps we've had over last 2 weeks affected reception.
