What is the purpose of Dog TV if the screen goes to sleep mode after a couple of hours?

The Science Channel program guide is not correct. The show Curiosity is not showing up, even though they keep advertising it. I want to record the series.

Do any of the DTV remotes have a button that will activate sleep timer. I have a Samsung TV and a Hughes HR10-250 receiver. thx.

One of my favorite features of my Philips TV is the ability to set a sleep timer - nothing fancy, just choose 30 minutes or 60 minutes and the tv shuts down as requested.  Since we've had direct tv, that feature has been unavailable to us.   Is there a trick that we're missing, or a guide somewhere
