I just had 2 receivers go kaput. One in each bedroom none were the main receiver

I just had 2 receivers go kaput one from each bedroom and neither was the main receiver.  One displays"this will take a minute" And will not progress past that screen   The other receiver will start to load and then it will flash "connecting" With a loading bar and then it disappears and then reappears and just keeps repeating g over and over.  Are both my boxes toast?  Or is there a way to reset them without having to get new receivers?
