Issues with the remote control and interacting with U-Verse.

This might be a very simple fix, but I have to come here because there was just no way for me to find a trouble shoot option to fix this.

The remote works fine for turning the TV on and off and raising and lowering the volume. There is no problem with that. The problem exists with the inability to change channels, interact in the menu for trouble shooting. It's actually kinda frustrating that there wasn't any form of trouble shooting for issues with using the remote in the trouble shooting menu. If I try to press the menu key, nothing happens. If I try to view recordings, nothing happens. I think the remote isn't connecting or syncing to the DVR reciever. This is very annoying because it's a new remote fresh out of the box and I followed the instrucntions for getting it to work with the TV to the letter. The remote is an A30-RF1 model. Everything works except that I can't use my remote to interact with the U-Verse Reciever.

Another annoying thing is how frequantly I'm trying to fix problems with our TV for my mom, and I can't even verify the account because I just don't have that information. I'm usually the one fixing problems, and now, I need help again. Sometimes I wonder if people are going to go anywhere in the future with so many issues with hardware and software with so many products. I hope that by bringing this up it helps others find a solution, and I hope that more places produce products that have a quality that won't break or have issues with such a great frequency. That's a discussion for another place and another time. I just want my remote to work like it's suppose to.

@MetiorIce - That is a "point anywhere" remote that transmits  RF to a dongle where it is converted to IR for the STB. THe TV is IR all the way (not point anywhere).

Make sure the dongle is connected to the front USB connector. It should have been paired with the remote at the factory. YOu may want to do it again.

Make sure you are in att mode (press the att button) to control the STB.
