property damage to entire front lawn- dangerous to pedestrians- childcare across street
Hello, maybe someone can help me here. This is crazy that I can't get a hold of anyone to help. I've already called and they said they would get back to me in 48 hrs. STILL nothing.
I have been getting the run around from AT & T, the permitting dept, city of miami, and miami dade.gov for about 10 days now.
AT&T came by close to 2 weeks ago and dug up 2 huge holes in my front median lawn. They tore up all the grass in my entire front area of my house. They said they would put it back together in a week and still have not come back. Not only is there no grass there anymore but there are rocks, holes and very uneven surfaces. I have had to personally rake some of it to even it out with my bad back. This is not my responsibility. It is ugly but most importantly, it is dangerous. It also floods from the holes and uneven surfaces. Hopefully nobody falls or hurts themselves. If they do, the city of Miami says that it will be AT &T's responsibility since they did construction there. I know AT&T won't want to get sued over this. Please fix it. Create a safe median. Put it back to how it was. EVEN and WITH LAWN.
I've tried calling and still no resolve. Hopefully someone will take note of this before someone gets hurt. I have a daycare across the street and many times the kids walk over my median to get to the sidewalk.
I've heard of many many cases across all of Miami where this problem exists. AT&T comes out to do work and doesn't put the area back to how it was. The sidewalks remain painted (mine has about 15 different colored lines) and the lawns remain uprooted with rocks and uneven surfaces. It is a big concern especially as more and more of these cables start to get laid out in the city.
I had heard of this in a commissioners meeting a while back and they were upset b/c of how AT&T is ruining Miami and it's look ... and totally unnecessarily... I understand now why they were so angry.
It's a helpless feeling. They come and do what they want. At the very least put it back to how it was.
(If I were to do it myself the cost would easily be $1000)- This is city median that they destroyed. I understand they have the right to use it to lay cables. They also are required to return it back to how it was. Not leave it unsafe and ugly.
thank you , Rosa
