Directv Stream/Roku remote down arrow no longer triggers guide
Pressing DOWN on the roku remote use to bring up the guide. However that stopped working as of this morning. Directv App Build 3750102 Version 3.34.
Now to get to the guide you have to hit the Back button, then select guide (multiple button presses).

Using the down keystroke to get to the guide has been that way for years. It's idiotic to think that you guys thought it was a good idea to make that completely unusable! There are numerous clicks and sometimes the back button doesn't get you to the guide. My dad has exited out of the the app so many times, it angers me that someone thought it was a brilliant thing to do. My mother has it on her TV and she either exits out several times before she yells at me to come help her. Direct TV better fix this because raising the prices AND doing something brainless like moving the guide button will cause customers to go elsewhere. Direct TV has enough money to make upgrades that don't affect users ability to use it. I hope Directtv is listening because there's a lot of Karen's and Ken's that will just go elsewhere, including myself. What a great disappointment Direct TV. BRAVO! 🙄🙄

It’s so annoying now. I used to use the arrow down button on the Roku remote to get me to my recorded shows. So frustrating.

We were going nuts on Friday with our Roku remote in one of our TV locations. Changing batteries, rebooting equipment, trying different remotes etc. We figured it out by the next day and then saw this discussion when we searched the subject issue. I have no problem with the change, I think it's quickly easy to adapt to it. I just wish DirecTV would broadcast an email or push notice to tell us of the change. That is crappy customer relations. Shame on them.

I'm hoping this is a major overlook by Dtv Stream...I mean the down button does NOTHING now. Why would they make it harder to get to the Guide...the lifeblood of a streamer like them. If this is permanent, I'm going to check out the two weeks of Fubo free and see if their UI is more friendly.

And they do all this to us just as we’re going into deep couch sitting season. It was Friday the 13th, not April Fools…change it back DIRECTV.

DirecTV Stream is still the best value on the streaming TV market. Great channel selection packages, wonderful transmission quality, up to 20 simultaneous devices with three of those out of home base! I love the service and change is the name of the game! We went full boat streaming from full boat traditional cable with all the wires, boxes and DVR limitations. Nothing was portable!! Now that was change! A minor remote interface change is nothing compared to that leap of faith!

The up button still gives you the recently watched list, which is good for channel flippers.

Ludwick, appreciate your input but this thread is about the Roku app, not the Stream Box or other Directv devices. Using the Roku remote on the Roku directv app is absolutely horrible now.

I must say that I had never used the up button before the current snafu, but it's actually better than what we had been doing before via the down button to get to recent channels. It would be ideal to have these one-click functions: up=recent channels, down=guide.

My big gripe about the DirecTV roku app is that you can't get to the guide in one click. I would leave the change to the back button the same, and program the down arrow to take you directly to the guide.
