stream direct TV using an Apple Lightning to Digital AV adapter
Hello,
All I get is the video when streaming with my phone in my camper where wi-fi isn't available. Netflix works just fine, so it isn't a hardware issue . . . .

I’m confused by your title. Why are you looking for such an adapter? Just use the ‘DIRECTV’ app from the App Store and put in your login credentials. From there, you should be able to live stream your content. If you are having audio-related issues with the app, make sure it is updated to the latest version, try reinstalling the app, and restart your phone. Additionally, make sure the phone is updated to the latest IOS (16.0)

To clarify: I can stream Direct Stream from my phone with no issues. When I hook my phone up to my phone using the Apple lightning to digital AV (I have the adapter), while using the Direct Stream app on my iPhone, all I get is a picture, no audio. IOS is 16.

To be sure is your primary service DirecTV (satellite) or DIRECTV STREAM? And are you using the new combined app for the two or the old app?
DirecTV (satellite) specically forbids casting/lightning adapater to TV. It is for use on mobile device only.
The new combined app is buggy, so even if you do have DIRECTV STREAM, the DirecTV restrction against using lightning adapter might be bleeding through to the wrong service.

Say again? When you hook your phone up to your phone? Do you mean TV or other device? It’s probably because the audio is copyright-protected or something like that.

I have the same issue. When I connect my iPhone to the TV, I only get video no audio. I have DirecTV Stream. Plus the video stops and starts continuously.

This is likely due to copyright-related issues regarding both the audio and some of the picture. There’s not much you can do on your side other than try to install each channel’s individual app from the App Store and login as TV PROVIDER (DIRECTV STREAM) to get on-demand and live TV from that station.

I have this problem too. The issue started after updating to iOS 16. No audio, picture starts and stops every second or so when using the lightning to HDMI adapter.
To be clear, using the lightning to HDMI adapter has worked for years on all channels and is useful for connecting up to a TV where you leave limited or no Internet. It is one of the primary reasons why I subscribe.
It is unlikely to be a copy protection issue when the same version of the app works fine on iOS 15. There is clearly a bug somewhere.

iOS16 is still quite new, so perhaps the DirecTV Stream App hasn't been fully updated yet.

New DIRECTV STREAM/DirecTV (satellite) combined app is in growing pains. Now iOS has a new version. Likely both have to catch up to be compatible.

I’m experiencing the same thing after I updated to iOS 16 when I use the AV adapter cable there isn’t anymore audio coming from the mobile app.

Problems with using the AV adapter have been on and off since the service started. As far as I know they don't say that it works, so somewhat randomly as Apple or DirecTV (and AT&T before them) make changes it can break or start working again. I don't think they intentionally break it, but I'm also not sure they intentionally fix it when it starts working again.

I have the same thing going on. Both audio/video always worked, now audio won’t work. Still works from my wife’s phone. Would this be a direct tv or an Apple issue, who should I report it to?
