Code 205.4 when using Bally Sports App.

After successfully connecting with DirecTV as my "Provider" on the Bally Sports App for many months, it stopped working around 8pm eastern time on 7/7/22 and I received code 205.4 that indicated that my DirecTV ID is not valid. So far, I've been on the phone with DirecTV technical support as well as their digital assistance group, who sent me back to technical support.

The quick fixes provided by DirecTV do not work. DirecTV is just giving their standard responses to their users over and over again, without really looking into this specific issue with Bally Sports. Too many people are having this same problem in the past couple of days for it to be something simple fixed by clearing cache, etc. Thankfully, I was able to watch the Cardinals game on my iPad thru MLB.tv. I'm not optimistic that DirecTV or Bally will get this fixed anytime soon, especially since they each keep pointing the finger at the other one as being responsible.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, unfortunately that's typical for these companies. It's frustrating. Hopefully they'll get it together and have a fix soon. Fingers crossed.

Just letting you know that I messed around with it and got it working. I don't know why this worked but it did. Anyhow, I had tried multiple different devices and they all had the same code 205.4. What I did was logged into my Dtv acct bcuz I just wanted to make sure my credentials still worked on Dtv's site (DirecTV.com.) Logged in successfully to my account. Opened another window (in same browser Chrome/Android) and tried login again through the (Edited per community guidelines) app and it worked! Maybe bcuz both windows were still open/active? I don't know why, but it worked. Give this a try. If it's confusing, let me know and I'll explain better. (It's late lol) Good luck

The edited out part is Bally Sports app. I used abbreviation and I guess the AI thought it was a bad word.

You are a freaking genius DappyDoo!!  They can finger point and downplay the problem (when so many started having the same EXACT problem at the same EXACT time) until the cows come home. As for me, I am going to watch last nights Braves game, then tune in for today’s. Thanks again Dappy!! You da man (or woman). 👍👍

Glad it worked for you, Dappy Doo. I followed your instructions and it didn’t work for me. I’m giving up for a few days. Maybe DirecTV and Bally will get in sync, in the meantime.

Sorry it didn't work for you LCTN22. I got lucky I guess. I hope that it continues to work. I'm glad it worked for Ga911Chick. Hopefully they'll find a real fix that works for everyone soon. Best of luck to all dealing with this issue. I know it's frustrating.

Also, GaChick911- I'm glad it worked. I'm certainly no genius 😁. I'm just a guy that hates problems like this. They drive me nuts and I'll keep trying and trying to figure it out until it's fixed or I'm exhausted. Have a great day watching your baseball. 👍

We are having the same problem.  Trying to use the Bally Sports App on our smart TV and when we get to the login for DirecTV, we get the 205.4 error.  Tried it on multiple devices (smart tv/phone/etc.) and run into the same problem no matter what we try to use.  I can get into our DirecTV account without any problem so I know I am using the correct user name and password.  Although I did try clearing cache, resetting the password, restarting the devices, reinstalling the application, and using different browsers as well as using incognito browsing session.  This is extremely irritating and seems like they are blaming it on the other party...but we are paying A LOT of money for DirecTV and shouldn't have to work this hard to use the service.
