Why isn't my surround sound not working with Direct TV Streaming? I had no problem with U-Verse. I have a Yamaha V-670 Receiver.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but just to confirm: Currently, with my Uverse gateway, I have most of my equipment hardwired. For each tv, I have an ethernet cable running out of the back of the gateway to a network switch, and my Uverse DVR, TV, receiver, and blu-ray player are connected

I just bought a new Samsung TV and use an optical cable to hookup my Bose sound system. Every few minutes the sound stops working for a few seconds then comes back on. Frustrating. I am an I.T. guy and have tried all the "first steps" of changing cables, testing connections, etc. What is the issue?
