DIRECTV dropping OANN?

How could you bow down to the WOK cancel culture demands to dropping OANN?  They do not lie!  The "big lie of the 2020 election" is absolutely true. There is mountains of evidence of the election steal. All the misinformation comes from liberals not conservatives!  My husband and I will be dropping Directv if you go thru this in April. I will convince all our friends and family to do likewise. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our country. Shame on you!!!!

These 2 channels are my favorite and keep it on most of the day and night.  Please reverse the terrible decision to remove 2 (Edited per community guidelines) channels off DirecTV and restore these channels to my channel lineup.  As a longtime loyal consumer for providing channels I watch, please do not make me change providers in order to watch my favorite channels.

Read complaint OAN filed in California Supreme Court on issue of be canceled.  It’s on the home page and very elightning.

OANN and AWE was not renewed and removed. As far as I can tell it is not coming back. Thousands of DTV customers have also dropped DTV because of this. We have been discussing how the use of Over the Air (OTA) can give you allot of free TV. As well as the plethora of streaming apps such as Pluto TV, VUTV+, kloudTV, Prime TV and Firestick can provide many more options and for a fraction of the cost. Many are FREE.

I am an EX-DirecTV and AT&T customer. I dropped DTV because of two issues. 1. The nonrenewal of OANN and the extremes in programing. 2. Is the cost almost doubled for service.

What happened to One America News ?   I heard it was political decision from owner management.  I like to get both sides to a news story, only way to make opinion on what is the truth.  MSNBC is one extreme, OAN is the other.  Why keep one and not the other ?  Fair and Balanced is what it should be.  Thank you.

I can't believe that the conservatives are right about you, that you are censoring speech. How can i hear both sides of the story if you won't let one side speak? Please return OANN to my service. (Edited per community guidelines). I cannot believe you pull such a good fox alternative from the air.

@DIRECTVhelp thanks for your reply. But I wonder what metrics you are using to cut programming. Was OANN that unpopular? What other networks have you recently culled, because this looks like it is political, not financial. Cutting popular minority voices is not a good look for the ATT brand, I would think.

It could not have been ratings or revenue generation call, since OANN ranks higher Nationally than CNN. It had to be a inside call,  or OANN just asked for too much money to rebroadcast.  Either way we don't make broadcasting calls thats way above anyones head here.

Sorry, your bill won’t go down. Channels are added and dropped all the time, the package price stays the same.

It doesn't stay the same. It just keeps going up. I just recently retired and, while I can still afford my package, it's ridiculously high for all the "junk" that's in it and the "services" AT&T offers. I had a free equipment upgrade, but they told me I would have to make a two year commitment to get it. Never had to before. Just to upgrade from the HR44 to the HR54 so I could get 4K. Time to go to streaming services. Getting three streaming services for a total of approx. $21/month beats the $121.99/month plus the $10/month for DVR and $10/month for HD.

We discovered that our DIRECT TV no longer had ONE AMERICA NEWS showing last week. After contacting DIRECT TV and researching topic, we found out that this was a political control move by ATT. Since we were told that OAN NEWS would not be returning, we are cancelling our service and alerting other to stop doing ANY business with ATT companies.

I watched OAN and AWE on a regular basis. ATT keeps dropping good services and providing nothing in return, yet raising prices. I am considering switching to Hulu or Youtube for my streaming services.

Directv reasoning to me was cost. I then Will ask why not charge extra like HBO or all the other channels like pornography channels and sports instead of taking it out completely. I for one rather pay $7.00 for OANN than pay it for HBO which  I don’t. So this seems to me more of a free speech violation than cost excuses.

It was removed because the contract expired and Directv chose not to renew it.

Why was OAN removed?

AT&T/DirecTV decided from an "internal review" that they were not going to renew the carriage agreement. So once the current agreement ended then OANN went away. There are beliefs/theories, both on the forum and elsewhere, that this was encouraged by outside influence.

I’ll be canceling!! 

As this is not an airport, your departure notice does nothing. This is a public forum of other customers. You must call DirecTV if you wish to cancel.

Contract was intentionally allowed to expire and will not be renewed. Sorry, it’s not coming back.
