DirectTV in RV service address can't be changed if bundled with AT&T
I RV'd from LA to NY and called DirecTV to have the service address changed (like i have done before) to get NY channels. After several hours on chat and phone, Directv tells me they can't change my Directv service address because it is bundled with AT&T internet. (Edited per community guidelines)? Why didn't someone mention this when i got the service? I F*&#ing hate AT&T and now DitrecTV also. Cancelling it all ASAP.

Doesn't matter what ISP you have or if you are bundled or not, AT&T no longer allows you to change the service address without a move order, DTV wasn't enforcing this but AT&T is. DTV is for residential use only not for RVs as they had an RV account that allowed you to get the DNS channels that was until the FCC allowed the act to expire.

Well DTV led me to believe it could still be done, to the point of connecting me to the "Move" dept and they were going to change the service address, but they said the bundling of the acct with ATT internet prevented it.

DirecTV is not a very RV-friendly satellite company anymore. Dish is much better for RV'ers. Or, if you generally have good internet, consider DirecTV Stream. We travel in our RV with DirecTV Stream and love it.

so now i have no (Edited per community guidelines)ing service in my RV because i traveled to the east coast (from the west) and the receiver just says 722 reset the receiver which doesn't work by me or DirecTV.

I am done with both DirecTV and ATT (and i worked for ATT for 26 years). ATT does nothing but ruin other companies. Verizon and Dish here i come.

722 is an account authorization issue. Try refreshing your services via www.directv.com/refresh

tried refreshing myself many times, then called to have DirecTV refresh. Nothing works. Solid signal - all transponders over 90. Won't refresh. Paying for nothing

@boatguypat then your receiver needs a new access card ($20). Call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and ask for a new access card for your receiver. Have handy the actual receiver ID and current access card so you can start watching DIRECTV on that receiver upon arrival of the card.

@detuch254 why in the world would i give DirecTV another $20 for something that has worked fine for years? Until i moved and bundled DirecTV with ATT. Thn it all went to (Edited per community guidelines).

@boatguypat to be honest if the receiver has been unplugged for a long period of time (over 4 years) then it misses too many major card updates to work properly. Therefore, it doesn’t have the proper updates in order to be authorized for service. Essentially, the access card becomes shot after a few years of missing essential card updates due to being unplugged from the satellite feed.

thanks @detuch254 for the info. It has been used every year, so not that length of idle time. Isn't that something that should be in the script the support people use? How long has your unit been off line? No questions like that.

@boatguypat I agree it can be a nuisance how the agents don’t know everything about the equipment. But, yes, sometimes the receiver just won’t take authorizations for whatever reason. I personally left one of my receivers off for three years and it wouldn’t cut on (in terms of service) and kept showing error 722. I ended up getting a new card for it and the box worked great thereafter.

so after going into private chat with DTV support they confirmed they cannot change my DTV service address since it is bundled with ATT internet. Another waste of 2 hours of my time. Contrarey to what @shannon02 says, if i was not bundled, DTV would change my service address.
Verizon and DISH here i come.

Thanks for your patience. We confirmed with the other department that since the DIRECTV account is bundled to the internet account changing the address would create a conflict with your internet service, this is why it is not possible to change the address. Valentina, DIRECTV Community Specialist.
